What A Day!! The Rain stopped, the sun came out, and the crowds joined us for the Club annual Open Day on Saturday 21 July.
We would like to thank all our sponsors: Wealden District Council, Virtual Rigger, & Skybus Balloons ,without their support the day would not have been the success it was.
This year the aim was to get as many boats out on the water to support “Sail for Gold” and the Team GB Olympic Sailors. We would like to thank our Landlords who agreed FREE entry to the site for the day.
In the morning we hosted the RYA OnBoard Regional Festival – after lunch we managed to get in excess of 50 boats on the water as our effort to “Push the Boat Out”.
The Windsurfing , Sailing and Canoe taster sessions were fully booked by lunchtime.
The Phase 5 Steel band kept the crowds entertained whilst they tucked into the succulent hog roast & BBQ . The beer tasting also went down well.
Those members who wanted a more relaxing sail enjoyed the opportunity to try their hand at radio controlled yachts.
There was also the chance to study the craftsmanship of the steam boat.
All in All it was a fantastic day,
