BIG Cheque!

I was up, booted and suited, early today to go and collect a really nice present for the Club - a huge cheque for £47,000 that we have been awarded by Sport England following a grant application (look out for the display when you are next down at the club - maybe for the Open day on Saturday!). We plan to spend the money on a brand new launching facility called a “Versa Dock” that will allow us to launch boats whatever the water level (although the level is very high now it wont be forever!). The new facility includes a hoist so that we can help more people to get access to our wonderful sport and should mean that we never again have to worry about a lack of rain! Delivery is planned for August. Added to that we also got a grant for £10,000 to help replace some of the club boats and MC have a twinkle in their eye for yet more improvements soon. All in all a great day and I am really looking forward to MC tonight when we can start seeing the fruits and lots of hard work over the last couple of months. Just hope the week-end is good weather for the Open Day now - keeping fingers crossed for that too!
