What a fantastic day the Open Day turned out to be. Lots of visitors, good weather and people just having fun at Bewl. I was on site from early morning til late and although it was certainly hard work at times, I had fun awarding prizes to all the OnBoard Schools who took part in the Sail for Gold Festival, opening MoBs new access ramp, running the Sail for Gold Regatta with Dave, and enjoying talking to all sorts of people wanting to learn to sail. It was also MoBs “Founders Day” and I was really honoured to be asked to cut the ribbon and say a few words to mark the occasion. We were also able to display a small section of the Versa Dock we are buying with our grant cheque and I hope we shall get ours delivered in early August. Before thenits the Olympics and I’m going to be busy so I have asked John Langridge to take on my role for a few weeks so I can devote my attention to that – trouble is that means working from 06h30 to 23h00 most days – hey ho
