We expect parents to take a active role in teaching their child\, helping with rigging and getting on the water. Arrive Friday evening or Saturday morning  Saturday  Lunchtime - Weekend Briefing  Afternoon - Sailing Game  Early Evening - Prizes for dressing up as Cowboys or Indians  Live band with Ribs ‘n’ Beans in the Club House and Bar  Sunday  For those who wish: Sailing in convoy  over to Dunsters Bay - pull up boats on  the bank - either to walk to pub or  to eat (own) picnic.  Sailing race back!  Self catering supper  Bingo in the Club House & Bar  Monday  Have a go at canoeing in the morning  open and closed canoes.  Free by kind participation of Bewl Canoe Club  members/instructors.  Afternoon - Pack up!    Book early people !\, once we are confident on numbers we would like to add other activities to the weekend.

DESCRIPTION:These advanced youth sailing sessions are aimed at sailors of Stage 3 ability and upwards i.e- they will not require help with rigging/ launching and landing and will have an understanding of how to race and be comfortable sailing on all points of sail around Bewl.  Structure of the sessions  Each training day will have a key area of focus e.g. upwind or roll tacking with a briefing and debrief using video footage if needed. For those who wish to continue we will be putting on Saturday afternoon racing where the sailor will be put into practise all that was learnt in the morning. We expect parents to take a active role in teaching their child\, helping with rigging and getting on the water. There will be an RYA Dinghy Instructor helping run the session along side the parents.    We encourage the children to have lunch together after the session\, a special kids menu is available at the Galley please book lunch on arrival. SUMMARY:Advanced Youth Squad 
DESCRIPTION:These advanced youth sailing sessions are aimed at sailors of Stage 3 ability and upwards i.e- they will not require help with rigging/ launching and landing and will have an understanding of how to race and be comfortable sailing on all points of sail around Bewl.  Structure of the sessions  Each training day will have a key area of focus e.g. upwind or roll tacking with a briefing and debrief using video footage if needed. For those who wish to continue we will be putting on Saturday afternoon racing where the sailor will be put into practise all that was learnt in the morning. SUMMARY:5hr Relay Race
DESCRIPTION:Come along and take part in our annual 5hr relay race event on Monday the 5th of May.    The race is open to all members of the Club.   There will be two starts\, one for adults and one for juniors\, under 18 on 31.12.2014 if required. All helms and crews in a junior boat must be under 18. Each boat must have at least two helms and two crews for double- handed boats\, two helms for single handed boats.  Some boats may have more than 2 crews and may change crews more frequently.  All crew changes from the pontoons.    Registration will take place at BVSC prior to the briefing by completing the entry sheet posted on the notice board near the chart of Bewl Water.  The names of all helms and crews must be declared on the entry form.  There is no charge.    Briefing                        10.15 on Monday May 5th 2014    Start of race                 The adult race will start at 11.00 and junior race at 11.03.  Both races will finish at 16.00 or soon after.    Each boat must change crews AT LEAST twice during the race at approximately 90 minute intervals\, i.e. at 12.30 and 14.15.   But a boat may change crews more than twice. A crew change must be indicated to the Committee boat the next time the boat passes through the gate.  Failure to do so will result in disqualification.
