We have a wide range of courses designed to suit any requirements from first sail experiences to advanced racing techniques and everything inbetween!

Try Sailing Sessions

2 Hour Session

£15 Per-person, £30 Per-family (3 Max)

Want to try sailing without having to commit to a full course first? These sessions are designed to give you a first sail experience on the water. One of our instructors will take you out with up to 2 other students and show you the basics. To book, or for more information please contact the club office.

RYA Level 1: Start Sailing

This course introduces the adult sailor with little or no experience to the sport. Covering all you need to know to get afloat and the basic boat controls. The practical aspect of this course will take place in a boat called a Wayfarer, with a qualified instructor and 2 other students. By the end of this course you should feel comfortable to sail in light winds under supervision.

RYA Level 1: Start Sailing (Evening Course)

Weekends too stressful – can think of nothing better than having a relaxing sail after a hard days work? Then why not come and learn to sail in the evening. This course is run over six consecutive Wednesday evenings, and could make learning to sail more fun and accessible!

RYA Level 2: Basic Skills

By learning more advanced techniques, Level 2 includes the introduction of the all important ‘Five Essentials’, sailing around a triangular course and the ability to right a capsized dinghy. The perfect way to consolidate your sailing!

RYA Level 2: Basic Skills (Evening Course)

RYA Seamanship Skills

Aimed at equipping you with the skills you need to be an independent sailor, in addition to improving your all-round sailing skills, sessions will include techniques for stronger winds, leaving from and returning to a variety of locations; mooring; anchoring and reefing afloat.

RYA Start Racing

This practical course is designed to introduce you to all the skills required to start club racing, including starting procedures, getting around a race course and how to maximise your boat speed and outmanoeuvre your opponents! By the end of this course you should be able to confidently take part in club racing.

Adult Saturday Club

For those who want to brush up on their skills, and make the most of their time out on the water! With guidance from our Instructors, being out on the water becomes second nature, and with top ‘hints and tips’ and safety boat cover at all times, you will be improving your skills in no time. A great way to make new friends too.

Wednesday Morning Supervised Sailing Sessions

These sessions give you the perfect opportunity to get out on the water and practice your skills or just go for a sail! The sessions are primarily a chance to simply get out there and practice, however an RYA Instructor will be on hand to help you get out on the water, keep an eye on you whilst afloat and also offer any ‘hints and tips’ if required.

Morning 10:00 – 12:30

Booked in advance: £10 + £5 for boat hire

Turn up on the day: £15 + £5 for boat hire

Private Tuition

If you cannot make any of the above dates, wish to learn more intensively, or find it difficult learning in a large group, then why not book yourself some private tuition. Learning one to one, or with a small group of friends, whether you wish to learn to learn from scratch, or simply want to build on what you already know, then private tuition could be for you.

One Person: £55 for 2.5 hours

Two People: £80 for 2.5 hours
