Youth Sailing

Introduction

Youth Sailing is definitely on the up at the club, we have a successful formula with our Saturday Clubs which run every two weeks on Saturdays. We aim to provide a safe fun environment for our young sailors to develop their sailing skills once they have passed their RYA level 2. Saturday clubs run throughout the year.

Club training boats are available to members to use as part of our Youth Training programme at very competitive rates, we encourage young sailors to buy one of our adopted youth boats: Topper, Optimist and RS Feva so we can further develop our Youth Racing programme across these craft.

Our Youth Week and Youth Regatta are held in August across the summer holidays and attract a capacity attendance year after year. With 60 + sailors this is a brilliant way to get to know new friends and have fun on the water. See the photo gallery for great shots from this year.

We plan to expand Youth Racing in 2008 with the introduction of a Saturday youth racing club and fleet specific training and coaching. Watch this space for news on what’s happening with youth sailing and contact either Bev Nunn or Simon Kemp for more information.
